Contact Us Why water abstraction licences have to change

Current situation

Water companies, farmers etc were given licences in the 60’s to take volumes of water and groundwater without any consideration of the environment, climate warming etc. By using these licences to the maximum, they have taken too much water out for the good of the chalk streams. To stop, currently they need to be compensated.
